Azure Storage provides the back-end data storage for all of Microsoft's internal and external Azure cloud offerings. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to manage the infrastructure for storage services that power the Microsoft big data ecosystem. You will work closely with other Product Managers, Software Engineers, Finance, Capacity Planners, and Business Planners to enable hyperscale growth of analytics with efficiency. You will need a broad and deep understanding of our technical architecture and business strategy, with a passion for driving operational excellence. You will need to be able to understand, evaluate, balance, and represent many different points of view as you work across teams. You will bring structured analysis, along with a drive for results. The Product Manager in this role will have to be flexible, pragmatic, understand both the engineering side AND the business side, and work across partner teams to keep everything moving.
* Analyze COGS, gross margin, and business value of feature areas including ensuring alignment with key KPIs for improving the profitability of product areas
* Analyze consumption and identify trends and growth opportunities across core KPI's
* Responsible for our core financial and capacity fulfillment KPI's
* Creating and driving multi-year roadmaps for our cost profile
* Drive to create and improve a world-class system for ensuring we have the right capacity in the right places at the right time.
* Constantly anticipating customer future needs and ensuring we are ready to meet those demands
* Partner with senior leaders across a wide array of disciplines and teams
Basic Qualifications:
* 5+ years of professional experience in technical product management
* Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines or 4+ years equivalent industry experience
* 1+ years of experience in at least two of the following: Engineering, Finance, Data Science (including machine learning), Big Data Analytics, or Capacity Planning
Preferred Qualifications:
* Excellent analytical skills, verbal, and written communication skills
* Excellent cross-group collaboration skills - you will collaborate across the company and across disciplines with design, PM, finance, and our business teams.
* 3+ years of experience in cloud-based businesses
