Job Description:
As a Production Planner you will master schedules MRP and plans shop work order schedules for the manufacture of products. Operational objectives include reducing manufacturing cycle times in addition to continuous flow and resource allocation.
Essential Functions:
* Develops, evaluate and improve manufacturing master scheduling and planning methods utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and initiatives.
* Works with sales to manage Sales Order acceptance, forecast demand and next available delivery schedules for contract administration.
* Initializes the MRP system for new release product by setting manufacturing lead time, make or buy, order size and other appropriate parameters required by the MRP.
* Utilizes the MRP system to communicate the voice of the customer through marketing forecasts and firm sales to chart the course for product demand into the near and long term future.
* Transacts forecast demand to planned work orders to position material demand to the beginning of each month.
* Integrate the functions of master scheduling, engineered work flow and resource availability to plan the shop build schedule with the work cell design for each family of product.
* Monitors daily sales and forecast changes and manages demand for product
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Aviation
* 4 years of prior relevant working in a Manufacturing environment or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and practices
* Conversant in the operations of ISO procedures and systems
* Previous experience working with MRP system
* Ability to extract and analyze data
* Working knowledge of MS office and strong excel knowledge.
