The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will be the established point of contact to manage all aspects of EHS compliance for the International Papers Camarillo Container. This position will work closely with all functional areas to ensure that all parties understand pertinent EHS requirements and to ensure that compliance is maintained. Effectiveness in this position will require artful leadership of non-subordinate employees working with and through them to maintain facility compliance. This position reports to the Camarillo Site Manager with a dotted line reporting relationship to Regional EHS Manager.
Key Functions:
* Responsible for EHS compliance with company, local, state, and federal requirements. Develop schedules, prepare permit applications and provide documentation to demonstrate compliance with company and agency requirements.
* Oversee training and inspection processes for all EHS programs.
* Provide technical support for on-going problem solving and EHS investigations
* Provide leadership in developing, strategic implementation and management of EHS policies, procedures and practices.
* Respond to EHS incidents and lead the on-site emergency response team.
* Review and inform leadership of company and regulatory changes and prepare the facility for compliance with these changes through management of change.
* Develop an effective communication process to make safety priorities and performance visible. Coach and work with facility leadership to be a visible role model of (1) incident prevention through hazard identification and mitigation (2) safe work practices and employee engagement (3) environmental compliance. .
* Maintain and develop recordkeeping systems to demonstrate compliance, including but not limited to, tracking spreadsheets and databases.
* Act as the point of contact for all scheduled agency inspections. Actively participate in internal and external discussions and meetings, with auditors, agencies, consultants & EHS corporate staff.
* Effectively and proactively manage all environmental financial aspects, including but not limited to: environmental compliance submissions, renewals, training, etc.
* Obtain and maintain permits, track and review monthly VOC and HAP emissions, coordinate timely disposal of hazardous waste and universal waste, maintain proper documentation. Track on time submission of all required reports and forms to appropriate regulatory agencies.
* Develop and maintain good relations with regulatory agencies.
* Conduct quarterly environmental compliance reviews with plant management in support of the Quarterly Compliance Certification process.
* Review all capital projects with regard to EHS implications and permitting requirements. Provide management with details of what will be required and permitting timelines.

Required Experience:
* College degree and/or 3 to 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or 7+ years of EHS experience.
