Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. We are looking for an IT Software Engineer who is interested in designing and building information systems to support construction of some of the largest and most complex products in the world. We are the sole designer and builder of U.S. Navy Nuclear Aircraft Carriers and one of two providers of U.S. Navy Submarines. We are an extremely diverse organization with a talented and dedicated team of programmers, engineers, architects and administrators working together to support our ever changing technical landscape.As a Software Engineer you will work on a technical team that supports HIIs internally and externally facing application platform developing, maintaining, troubleshooting and creating code in various programming languages while employing advanced programming languages to integrate with ancillary systems. As a member of this team you will interface with: SAP, Team Center, SharePoint, and work with the talented IT professionals that support those systems. Basic Qualifications
0 years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Skills Preferred,Understanding of object-oriented design Principles
Knowledge of automated unit test principles, Experience with integrated development environments (IDEs), Ability to debug, Understanding of Agile development, including Scrum and KanBan
Experience with source control tooling. Technical Skills Highly Preferred
Experience with SAP ABAP and/or Microsoft Visual Studio (C, ASP.NET, JavaScript), Practical experience with Test Driven Development, Experience with Fiori UI5 development
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Node, ReactJS)
Experience with Git source control, Interpersonal Skills Highly Preferred
