The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). We provide asset management, wealth management and banking expertise to consumers and institutions around the world. CIMD partners with various teams across the firm to help individuals and institutions navigate changing markets and take control of their financial lives.

What We Do

Within the Investment Management Division, strategists (also known as Strats) play important roles in research, valuation, portfolio design and construction, surveillance and risk management analytics. A strategist will apply quantitative and analytical methods to come up with solutions that are accurate, robust and scalable.

GSAM Fundamental Equity and Direct Alternatives are investment teams that invest in Global Equities and Equity-related derivatives across all sectors utilizing a fundamental stock selection process based on in depth research.

Your Impact

You will be apart of the GSAM Fundamental Equity and Direct Alternatives Strats Team. You will work with investment teams that invest in Global Equities and Equity-related derivatives across all sectors utilizing a fundamental stock selection process based on in depth research.

Responsiblities

Strategists within GSAM Fundamental Equity and Direct Alternatives will apply both Data Science techniques and other quantitative methods to develop investment and risk management analytics that will be used in researching investment thesis and portfolio management.

Qualifications

* Outstanding background in a quantitative discipline (eg mathematics, physics or computer science at PhD or advanced Masters level)
* Experience in statistics, data science, machine learning and predictive modelling.
* Programming expertise (e.g. C++, Python, R, Matlab)
* Strong general and technical communication skills, with an ability to effectively articulate complex financial and mathematical concepts
* Creativity and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
