Job Description
Shriners Hospitals for Children - Salt Lake City is an acute pediatric orthopaedic specialty hospital. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of care to children with a multitude of orthopaedic and neuromusculoskeletal conditions, regardless of the ability to pay. You will function as a critical member of our hospital's team and work towards the goals of Shriners Hospital for Children.
We are currently hiring a part time Cook to help with preparing food for patients, staff, visitors, and catering events. This position will be working morning shifts that could start anywhere from 6-8 AM and end by 11-1 PM. The cook will ensure that food has been prepared according to a master menu, recipe and following departmental policies and procedures. The cook will also be cross trained to assist in all areas of the cafeteria and provide help and coverage when needed.
Position responsibilities include:
Food Preparation and Serving
- Demonstrates ability to prepare foods according to a master menu, recipe, and following departmental policies and procedures. Works to create eye appealing displays of food.
Sanitation / Safety
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to follow safe food techniques as described in the HACCP policy and procedure. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to follow kitchen safety policy and procedures.
Cash Register Operation
- Demonstrates ability to ring items up on the correct key, make proper change, and ring up charges correctly
