Primary Purpose:
The department of End User Computing develops and deploys the tools and services to continuously transform the workforces experience with technology. The role of Manager, Building Technology Systems is responsible for managing building technology solutions through the full system life cycle for simple through complex situations. Tasks include collaborating with the primary building architects, solution providers and project managers to create strategy, vision, design, integration, implementation and support for all technology in the Norfolk Southern Atlanta Campus. This position is also responsible for delivering analyses and recommendations to executive leadership. The manager will report to the Director of End User Computing.
The scope, impact, and contribution needed for this position is high due to the breadth and diversity of the numerous functions and accountabilities involved. The Organization is highly affected by the work carried out by the incumbent; therefore, a high degree of communication, collaboration, innovation, creativity, and structure is required.
Principal Duties:
Manage the application, software and systems for campus technology. Tasks includes coordinating with the designers, system integrators, maintenance providers, business partners and other Information Technology groups for business functionality and integration.
Manage building technologies such as building access, visitor management systems, employee mobile applications (food services, wayfinding, positioning systems, integrated resource booking platform, etc.), building management systems, security, lighting controls, parking, and collaboration solutions.
Maintain close liaison with stakeholders to identify system needs, capture specifications, and deliver building systems that meet agreed upon requirements.
Assess and review hardware or software solutions to ensure requirements are being met and that sound technical and secure solutions are achieved.
Ensure solutions are compliant with approved corporate policies, departmental standards, and procedures.
Coordinates with solution providers to make sure maintenance and support agreements are in place for the various solutions.
Plan, budget, implement, and track initiatives to drive continuous service and process improvement for assigned services.
Collaborate with stakeholders and technology partners to develop and maintain solutions roadmap.
Experience and Education

Education:

Skills and Abilities:
Strong business process analysis, requirements gathering, technical design and systems development skills.
Thorough understanding of system/software development and software engineering methodologies.
Proven problem solving, project management and planning skills.
Proficient in the development and maintenance of project plans.
Experience in systems integration and in working with vendors.
Experience managing communications and outreach and driving cultural programs for technical outcomes.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
