Facebook is looking for a Communications Manager to join it's Payments Team. The team's mission is to give people everywhere a safe and simple payment experience across the apps they already use and love. This includes via Facebook Pay which enables a seamless and convenient way to pay across Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. With a Facebook Pay account, people can buy and sell things theyve discovered online, send money to loved ones, and make donations to causes in just a few taps, without ever having to leave the app. Facebook Pay makes these transactions easier while ensuring payment information is secure and protected. This person will support advancing our Payments teams communications priorities at the company.
In this role, you will work with a talented and dedicated group of people who are passionate about building new ways to make payments even more rewarding and useful for consumers and merchants alike.
The ideal candidate will have experience creating and driving strategic public relations campaigns that support consumer, business, product, technology and brand communications. The ideal candidate will also have significant financial services experience and a track record of creating news moments around both product launches, thought leadership and proactive evergreen efforts. This person should have strong contacts with the consumer, lifestyle, business, retail, finance and tech press. Strategic, flexible, proactive, and resourceful communicators who are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously will enjoy this role. Payments Communications Manager Responsibilities
* Work closely and cross-functionally with various Payments teams (marketing, policy, legal, product) and external PR agencies to develop proactive and reactive communications campaigns that support our Payments teams goals
* Develop narratives and messaging that drive awareness for Facebook Pay with tech, consumer, business, finance and lifestyle press
* Clear communication: Distill complex, technical topics into simpler, more digestible narratives for broader audiences
* Work cross-functionally with Internal, International, Monetization, Product, Platform and Policy communications teams to outline and develop impactful cross-app communications campaigns about our payments products and services
* Help executives assimilate content and fine-tune delivery
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
* 12+ years of professional experience in Public Relations
* Experience serving as a spokesperson with the media as well as preparing executives for media interviews
* Knowledge of the product launch process
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working at a consumer financial services, consumer payments products or tech company
* Experience working on global products across international teams
