Summary

The Business Engineering Manager (BEM) leads the Global Engineering Competency and Execution for the S&C businesses. The individual for this role is accountable for end-to-end capital performance including portfolio management, business alignment, competitive project delivery, and capital productivity. The BEM directly reports to the S&C Global Manufacturing Engineering Leader.

Responsibilities

* Develop, manage, and implement annual and 5-year evergreen capital portfolio plans for all S&C businesses.
* Accountable for creating and maintaining capital management processes such as Asset Effectiveness, Capital Decision Boards, and other rituals to effectively deploy capital in a way that is consistent with business strategy.
* Accountable for capital portfolio effectiveness by driving clear business objectives, robust FEL processes, and competitive global capital execution strategies for all projects. Drives capital efficiency improvement using Best In Class capital implementation processes to enable achievement of goal of 10% advantaged cost and schedule performance vs external benchmarked performance.
* Accountable for performance of Large Projects including Large Project Team Leaders
* Support Engineering Competency renewal through development of direct reports,
* Accountable for all Engineering costs that are incurred by the business as a result of capital execution
* Accountable for end-to-end capital performance including portfolio management, Strategic business alignment, world class project execution & delivery, and competitive capital productivity
* Integrates individual LOB Capital plans into an overall S&C Capital portfolio that aligns with overall Business strategies, priorities, and funding allocations
* Through monthly performance management rituals, enables transparent and dynamic Capital Portfolio adjustments throughout the year
* Enables strategic dialogue & agility regarding Capital deployment
* Drives a continuous improvement culture in the execution of Capital projects
* Reinforces and drives core values and insures projects are executed safely and consistent with site safety practices
* Executes capital projects safely, on budget, and on time leveraging regional/local design, procurement, and construction management services
* Provides the team with a motivating and rewarding environment with growth, recognition and developmental opportunities.
* Provides effective leadership and talent management to leverage the human resources within the organization.
* Translates Business strategy and priorities into an effective Global Capital execution model

Job Qualification

Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Demonstrated Business, Financial, Engineering, and Technical acumen.
* Demonstrated track record for translating business and supply chain strategy into project portfolio and execution plans.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively direct and influence leadership and people across multiple functions.
* Demonstrated strong customer bias with the ability to surface and resolve complicated issues with business, supply chain, operations, and R&D leadership.
* Ability to quickly and seamlessly shift from strategic to tactical thinking and vice versa.
* Demonstrates a value for diversity.
* Demonstrated excellence in communicating, planning, networking, organizing, influencing and resolving conflict.
* Proven track record in effective implementation of strategic plans; demonstrated strategic capability
* Demonstrated ability to work and lead effectively in an international and culturally diverse environment. Experience leading global virtual teams
* Demonstrated ability to lead major change with a bias for decision making.

Role Pre-Requisites

* BS in Engineering or related degree
* Leadership experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Business.
* Ability to travel internationally/ domestically and establish relationships with site teams around the world. (20 - 40%)
* 10 or more years experience in Capital Project Management and execution. Business Engineering Leadership or Large Capital project experience desired. Experience across both large and small Global projects desired
* Strong fluency in both written and spoken English in a business environment
* Demonstrates a value for diversity.

Location Large manufacturing site in US, preferable for Richmond, Va the Engineering hub for S&C NA
