DuPont Safety & Construction Company is recruiting for an Electrical & Instrument Mechanic to join our dynamic team located at our Michigan Operations (MiOps) manufacturing site in Midland, MI. The Electrical & Instrument Mechanic is expected to repair and maintain electrical and instrument equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments. The incumbent will also engage in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machines, equipment, and instruments. S/he must have a strong work ethic, work well in team environments, demonstrate the ability to work independently, and conduct their work in a safe and efficient manner.
As an Electrical & Instrument Mechanic, you will:
* Ensure operation of company electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment by performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibration and instrumentation tuning, repairs, rebuilds, and proper installation of new equipment in a safe manner. This includes providing proper record keeping, especially of all safety checks.
* Serve as a support person to other departments by trouble-shooting equipment failures in the electrical and instrumentation area. This will also include providing input to resolve process difficulties or design deficiencies.
* Provide documentation for preventive maintenance performed, spare parts required, and calibration schedules.
* Provide mechanical repairs and inspection as needed.
* Update equipment history files as work is performed on equipment. Responsible for noting, on Maintenance bluelines, electrical wiring diagrams, control schematics or P & ID drawings, any changes, modifications made to the process systems. Maintain accurate spare parts usage log.
* Keep work area clean and aid in cleaning entire shop area
* Communicate work pending or requiring attention to management and/or to next shift, technician.
* Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of DuPont's Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures. Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position's jurisdiction.
* Responsible for entering, referencing and closing out maintenance work orders in the host system.
* Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
* Compliance with applicable company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required,
* Additional duties/functions may be required, (non-essential functions).
Job Qualification
* A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required; 2-year technical or vocational degree or higher is preferred
* A minimum of 3 years Maintenance experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Process Controls within a plant environment is required
* Knowledge of applicable electrical codes is strongly encouraged.
* The ability to work independently, strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
* This position operates according to a standard weekday schedule; must be able to work overtime, and during off-hours as needed
* This role is located in Midland, MI and may require less than 5% of travel, and this is a non-bargaining opportunity
* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position
