Job Summary
Inspects nuclear plant equipment and systems, including instrumentation and controls, electrical, mechanical, welding and civil disciplines. Monitors maintenance, operations, radwaste and refuel activities as directed by supervision. Leads and assists in performing surveillances and self-assessments. Verifies that work performed meets specifications and regulatory requirements. Issues stop work orders when required. Performs tests, examinations, and reviews records/documents to verify compliance with procedures, codes and acceptance
Key Accountabilities
* Performs compliance-based inspections and performance observations as assigned.
* Leads or assists in performing surveillances as required.
* Performs non-destructive tests/examinations as required.
* Performs pre and post review of maintenance work requests.
* Reviews procedures, manuals and design documents for compliance with QA program requirements.
* Assists in performing self-assessments in various organizations.
* Works a shift schedule as required to meet plant needs.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
* Must have a Bachelor's Degree plus 1 year experience in equivalent inspection, examination or test activities, or completion of an Associate's Degree plus 2 years experience in equivalent inspection, examination or test activities, or High School Graduate plus 3 years experience in equivalent inspection, examination or test activities or 1 year satisfactory performance as a level 1 in the corresponding inspection, examination or test category.
* Regulatory Qualifications
* Level one: Two years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or, High school graduated plus six months of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or, Completion of college level work leading to an Associate Degree in related discipline plus three months of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities.
* Level Two: One year of satisfactory experience as Level 1 in the corresponding inspection, examination, or test category or class, or, High school graduation plus 3 years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or, Completion of college level work leading to an Associates Degree in a related discipline plus 1 year of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or, Completion of a 4 year college degree plus 6 months of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or test activities.
Other Qualifications
Preferred
* Current or prior certification as an Inspector per ANSI N45.2.6, 1978
* Current or prior certification in Non-Destructive Examinations per ASNT SNTTC1A 1980 (MT/PT/UT Thickness)
