General Function:

Responsible for the design and engineering of components for use in systems provided for the beverage container industry. Responsible for diversified design and engineering functions involving new systems and major improvements to, or adaptations of, existing machines. Accountable for projects from concept to final prototype test & validation.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Assist the Manager, Standard Product Engineering or his/her designee in the design, engineering, and testing of prototype and experimental machines.
* Assist the Manager, Standard Product Engineering or his/her designee in design and engineering required for production machinery (ie Bodyformers, Neckers, etc)
* Project planning, design reviews, design verifications and value engineering activities
* Leading cross functional teams in machine performance improvement activities at Belvac, via remote connection, and in customer facilities
* Responsible for design output in the form of BOMs and drawings to Belvac standards and the requirements of Belvacs customers.
* Drive continuous improvement of best practices for the design, assembly, and operation of Belvac equipment including Bodyformers an Neckers
* Preparation of component drawings and system layouts in solid model format
* Lead testing at Belvac and in customer facilities with well documented results/data
* Author technical documentation and communication of technical data
* Verbal and written communication required
* Audiences include technical and non-technical team members as well as customers
* Configure and manage customer orders from order placement to completed installation
* Publication of Intellectual Property in Belvacs knowledge management system
* Other duties as assigned

Education: BSME required, MSME preferred.

Experience:

* Minimum of (8) years of experience in design and engineering. Preferred industries include:
* Beverage container manufacturing
* Decorators, Neckers, Trimmers, Cuppers, Conveyor
* Progressive die forming equipment
* High speed rotary machinery
* Consumer goods packaging machinery
* Demonstrable body of hands on mechanical knowledge including familiarity with one or more of the following:
* Machining (lathe, mill, etc)
* Fabrication (welding, bending)
* Assembly
* Field Service
* Proficiency in solid modeling software - AutoDesk Inventor preferred
* Must utilize GD&T controls defined by ANSI Y14.5 2009 (or later)
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 compliance
* Fluency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
* Compliance with OSHA and/or CE Safety Standards.
