This position is for a highly motivated, self-managing mid-level EH&S; professional. Manages EH&S; plans and procedures across multiple EH&S; specialties, including Health/Safety and Environmental/Compliance. Analyzes facility and employee practice issues for opportunities to apply EH&S; procedures to solve problems or improve EH&S; policy effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Manages relationships across other specialized departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S; regulations and UTC requirements.
* Provides advice, support, and technical guidance to the EH&S; Manager regarding safety opportunities on the production floor.
* Organizes and maintains EH&S; policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations.
* Maintains constant awareness of changing regulations, ensuring the companys Environment, Health and Safety policies and training are aligned with current laws and industry standards.
* Acts as a partner in EH&S; by formulating and administering EH&S; plans and procedures including EH&S; Program Management.
* Has responsibility for multiple EH&S; specialties.
* Responds to onsite medical incidents.
* Manages, implements and supports all S&H; programs, including Training and OSHA regulations, implementation of Company S&H; Policies, Accident Investigation/Reporting and Regulatory Compliance programs.
* Works closely with EHS Manager to ensure a team approach is used to effectively monitor all EHS activities.
* Manages the industrial hygiene management program with the assistance of the EHS Manager.
* Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor environment and works independently with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
* This position requires Masters degree. In the absence of a Masters degree, a Bachelor of Science degree in related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience required.
* Experience and competence in developing and implementing all aspects of an industry leading Safety and Health Program.
* Strong communication and influencing skills from Senior Management to plant level employees.
* Competent in coaching and teaching.
* Ability to form, facilitate and maintain internal and cross functional teams and relationships.
* Competent in federal, state and local S&H; regulations and the regulatory agencies governing the assigned facilities.
* An understanding of the manufacturing process, excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects.
* Competent in Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel.
* Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Certifications:
Holds or the ability to obtain the below certifications:
* A current RCRA Hazardous Waste Management certification as per 40 CFR 262.16 and 262.17
* US DOT HAZMAT Ground Shipper
* First Aid, CPR, Blood borne Pathogens
