The Project Manager, Program Office is responsible for the project management activities for the enterprise strategic initiatives. This position leads all phases of the project lifecycle, using the companys agile methodology, and is responsible for project delivery that is within scope, schedule and budget. This position is critical in driving the successful implementation of strategic company initiatives for the Program Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Project manage and monitor scope, timeline, budget, issues, risks and interdependencies
* Manage the development and deployment of new initiatives by tracking milestones, timelines and budgets against targets
* Lead/coach cross-functional teams through all phases of the project lifecycle using US Foods agile methodology, where appropriate
* Partner with Program Office leads to ensure the initiative vision and business case is clearly documented in a charter/roadmap and is aligned to organizational goals
* Lead effective backlog grooming, sprint planning, standups, sprint review, risk and issue tracking and retrospective ceremonies
* Manage project plans and schedules; obtain and manage resources and budget
* Develop status updates, challenge assumptions and enforce quality within project team
* Facilitate rapid identification and resolution of project level risks, issues and conflicts; flag off-track projects to Governance support team
* Manage critical interdependencies between projects and risks
* Support Program Office and Excellence teams in managing projects to develop and update plays
* Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure project plan inputs are complete
* Educate and influence internal stakeholders on the core concepts and principles of agile project delivery, providing continuous feedback
* Perform feasibility test on new plays, ensuring project can meet agreed schedule
* Support Governance lead in ensuring project plan and stage gate documentation is complete
* Prepare materials for cross-functional discussions and focus on continuous improvement
* Support Governance team in ensuring all data, status and support materials are complete and accurate; and executive ready
* Establish and refine KPIs with analytics support team to track initiative progress, flag issues and measure solution effectiveness across markets
* Conduct and document lessons learned sessions related to improvements in methodology and project management processes
* Develop and update documentation on US Foods project management methodology, including a library of sample deliverables for use in project management
* Serve as a continuous improvement and change management partner
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training:
Bachelors degree required in Business, Marketing, Finance, Project Management, or related field.
Related Experience/Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of relevant business or project management experience
* Exceptional communication skills and experience in working with Senior Leadership
* Experience in a matrixed environment, as well as in managing cross-functional programs, teams and activities
* Experience managing or working with agile teams
* Proficient in Scrum and Kanban methodologies
* Agile experience is preferred
* Proficient with project management tools, MS-Project and/or other project management software and Microsoft Office applications
* Certification preferred: examples include Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Scrum Master Certification
