Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) is growing! We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Cyber Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The Cyber Engineer is a key contributor in the implementation of cyber engineering, performing Information Assurance/Cybersecurity activities on Patriot Tactical Systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7 and Windows 7/10 AGM. The Cyber Engineer will manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and data as well as the security of the systems on which the information resides. The Cyber Engineer will ensure the protection of the integrity, availability, authenticity, non-repudiation and confidentiality of user data on these systems in accordance with DISA STIG requirements. The Cyber Engineer will develop and test operating system security patch sets to be distributed to the US Army for application to Closed-Restricted systems. The Cyber Engineer will perform Development test integration and execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports. This position requires interaction with software developers prior to fielding, and follow-up with system administrators to maintain ATO compliance. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to translate technical sustainment processes into actionable instructions for less technically proficient users.

Required Skills:

* Minimum 2 years related experience in Cybersecurity, Systems or Software Engineering or other relevant engineering
* Extensive use of Red Hat or similar Unix operating systems
* Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Experience working in a DoD environment
* Ability to work with limited supervision, be a self-starter, and able to work in a team environment
* Experience with troubleshooting and patching of Red Hat OS or similar Unix operating systems
* Experience with troubleshooting and patching of Windows 7, Windows 10
* Experience with vulnerability assessment of Red Hat OS, Windows 7, Windows 10
* Experience in applying improved security features in Red Hat or similar Unix operating systems
* Ability to support periodic travel in both CONUS and OCONUS.
* DoD 8570 (DoDD 8140.01) compliant certifications for IAT level II or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire
* Current Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:

* DoD 8570 (DoDD 8140.01) compliant certifications for IAT level II and IT level II (Security+, CISSP, or CEH) and at least one CE certification such as MCP, MCTS, CCENT, or Linux+.
* Progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to Information Assurance/Cyber Engineering requirements, determination, development, and implementation.
* Experience in security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software operating system and application solutions.
* Experience with security features and/or vulnerability of various operating systems as defined by NSA, NIST, DISA (STIGs) and USCYBERCOM.
* Experience with IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools; e.g., Nessus/ACAS, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC).
* Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and Experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.
* Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
* Experience in preparing and conducting briefings and overviews to educate customer personnel on Patriot Tactical Command System and Battery Command Post.
* Previous military service with US Army PATRIOT system
* Experience as a User Interface/User Experience designer with an ability to apply real user feedback into designs
* Proven ability to develop system and subsystem performance and test procedures, evaluate systems and subsystems interfaces, or design and integrate systems or subsystems using COTS/government supplied equipment.
