Qualcomm's Data Science & Advanced Analytics team is looking for proven and motivated leader who can define the strategy for Data Science Program and mentor the team to deliver advanced analytical solutions.

Experience in engaging with business stakeholders and understanding complex problem statements.

Responsibilities include functional & technical leadership to Develop data science roadmap, enable the team in the design, development, maintenance and optimization of analytical solutions.

Ability to drive process standardization and establish best practices

Analyze the market and industry trends in the technology and proactively look for opportunities in proposing the best solutions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders

Functional Responsibilities

* Develop data science roadmap
* Ability to lead use case development and document potential business value
* Motivates the Data Scientists to accept change and adapt priorities in order to meet changing demands.
* Develops, coaches, and mentors experienced members of the team and provides development assignments.
* Partners with IT and business leaders to define the strategy that accelerates Qualcomms digital value creation journey.
* Assesses existing Data Science capabilities, tools, technologies, organization, resources, strategies, and architectures. Leading change that aligns these factors to the Data Science and Advanced Analytics vision.
* Manages a team in the assigned business area to ensure project and/or program objectives and business needs across multiple business domains (e.g., Engineer, IT, Finance) are being met by ensuring that high-level business requirements are thoroughly and accurately documented in accordance with company standards.
* Communicates performance expectations and monitors and evaluates the performance of team members to ensure plans are met.
* Evaluates existing IT resources to determine coverage of the necessary skills and knowledge required to meet ongoing business demands.
* Identifies and promotes a unifying vision throughout the team with associated day-to-day goals and creates a climate in which people want to contribute.
* Manages the performance of team members by meeting regularly with each member to discuss current and future state of key projects, identifies developmental opportunities, and evaluates performance based on key metrics.
* Allocates workload (which includes key decisions, project management, and resource allocation) among team members and by taking into consideration employee availability, skill set, and current workload when making assignments.
* Communicates plans, roadmaps, strategies, initiatives, capabilities and directions across Qualcomm domains, verbally and in writing.
* Provides guidance and input into the management of requirements and/or solutions throughout key stages of the project or initiative.
* Advises and teaches experienced members of the team on how to achieve effective job performance.
* Networks with colleagues within a domain to gain insight, ideas, and connections.
* Develops creative solutions to problems and leverages new technology in order to more effectively meet business needs.
* Supports IT teams by facilitating the implementation and maintenance of standardized tools, templates, and processes.

Key Competencies Required:

* Analytical Skills - The ability to collect information and identify fundamental patterns/trends in data. This includes the ability to gather, integrate, and interpret information from several sources.
* Ability to conduct research, design statistical studies and develop solutions.
* Develop Story Telling dashboards on analytics to assist business in decision making.
* Develops predictive models using Machine Learning algorithms (SVM, Random Forest, Neural Network, Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, K-mean Clustering, Catboost etc.)
* Implement deep learning models for structured and unstructured data sets
* Perform Time Series Analysis and Forecast (ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing, VAR etc.)
* Ability to develop capabilities in Text Analytics ranging from Basic to Advanced (Topic Modelling, NLP)
* Dealing with Conflict - The ability to quickly and directly address problems, find common ground and persevere on tough assignments. This includes having the willingness to be centrally involved in debates and facilitating conflict discussion and resolution.
* Decision Making - The ability to make quick, accurate decisions. This includes the ability to weigh alternatives and take into account the impact of the decisions on people, equipment, or other resources.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Data Science/Machine Learning, Statistics or Mathematics and 10+ years of IT-relevant work experience OR 12+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.
* Experience in Programing (Python, R, SQL, NoSQL, Hive, Pig, Hadoop, Spark) with ML tools
* Experience in Data processing & Visualization (Tableau, QlikView, etc)
* Experience in Data science in Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
* Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
* 5+ years experience delivering data science projects including EDA, model building and data processing
* 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience managing software development teams of 10+ employees. Focus on ability to lead team of Data Scientists on complex projects
* Ability to present Ideas at executive management levels
* Strong influence skills to drive business adoption and change
