Role Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist Intern to support development of our flagship platform and services. This is a rare opportunity to take on a key role with an early stage product and engage in the exciting, red-hot electric mobility market.

As a Data Scientist Intern at eIQ Mobility, you will use data and analytics methods and technologies to interpret data from multiple sources to help our customers make informed decisions regarding where and when to electrify their vehicle fleets, and build systems that optimize fleet operations. You will design key algorithms and models for our products, and will be involved in developing our software platform.

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelors degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

What Youll Do

You will work with the Data Science team to:

* Analyze product requirements to design and implement analytical models, algorithms, etc.
* Support prototype and proof-of-concept work without losing focus on the big picture architecture and platform development
* Write production-quality code to help us scale our products
* Develop and maintain documentation in support of analytical models, algorithms, etc.
* Present analysis findings and model designs to internal/external stakeholders; communicate complex technologies in a simple manner to all teams, including non-technical

Preferred Qualifications

* Applicants should have experience working with others to create quantitative models.
* Enthusiasm for the renewable energy space is appreciated; experience with time series modeling, machine learning or optimization is preferred.
* Our team codes in Python and uses both relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB). Applicants should feel comfortable with some of these technologies, and have a desire to learn.
* Academic focus in Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science.
* Understanding of product development lifecycle: researching, testing, and launching new products and services.
* Strong customer education and communication skills.
* Excellent teamwork and project management capabilities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Assists department with assigned projects
* Completes challenging projects and assignments
* Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
* Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned

* Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
* Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
