Position Specific Description
Risk Management oversees all the insurance needs for NextEra Energy, Inc., as well as assessing and analyzing risks to the organization. The group is responsible for engaging with internal business units, insurance brokers, and insurance companies. Risk Management also oversees Palms, a Captive insurance company, as well as developing strategy on managing risk internally, risk transfer, and executing strategy.
The Risk Management Senior Financial Analyst will primarily be executing on long term strategy and required to do the following:
* Develop and maintain financial models in Excel, including forecasting and valuation models
* Investigate and evaluate lines of business and propose strategic product development
* Work closely with the Palms Manager and team for incorporating strategic initiatives into the Palms forecast
* Work closely with multiple vendors and advisors, understanding and integrating their information into strategic analysis
* Support strategic initiatives and goals, including acquisitions, product deployment and insurance origination
* Research regulatory and reporting frameworks, and propose structures and solutions
* Prepare presentations for management and executive leadership reports
The Risk Management Senior Financial Analyst should possess the following:
* Ability to work on matrixed team in a fast paced environment
* Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
* Strong analytical/modeling skills including expertise in Excel
* Strong communication skills interpersonal as well as the ability to create presentations
Preferred degree (either):
* Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
* Masters of Business Administration

Job Overview
Employees in this role support senior management decision making via financial modeling and analysis, including but not limited to, revenue requirements and customer bill impacts, discounted cash flow analysis, and financial statement modeling. This position identifies and conducts complex analysis of financial impacts to issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department forecasting models
* Provides financial analysis support for various projects, calculating revenue requirements, net present value, customer bill impact, etc.
* Provides expertise, support, and financial training for the company departments requiring these services
* Performs financial analyses as required by management or regulatory bodies
* Makes recommendations on financing decisions and executes long and/or short term financings
* Prepares PowerPoint presentations to be provided to Senior and Executive Management
* Acts as a mentor to lower level employees
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
* High School Grad / GED
* Bachelors or Equivalent Experience
* Experience: 5+ years
