The Project Manager has the authority and accountability for specific technical issues within the Avionics & Flight Controls Integrated Product Team (IPT). It is the Project Managers responsibility to develop, define, and manage the scope, schedule, and budget for the work associated with resolving their specific technical issues. This includes oversight of contract efforts, engineering changes, purchase requirement generation, and part procurement.

The Project Manager is part of the Program Management team and will report directly to the Assistant Program Manager (APM) for their respective IPT as well as receive guidance from the Business Performance Manager and Deputy Assistant Program Manager (DAPM). There will also be cross-functional coordination with Program Planning, Finance, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contract for the IPT, providing direction and oversight for the issues they manage. This individual will act as the IPTs representation at program level meetings regarding technical issue resolution. This includes preparing presentations and delivering briefings to the NAVAIR customer and internal leadership regarding current status, performance to baseline, and risks/opportunities.

Additional responsibilities include: coordination of internal resources, development of detailed project plans, measurement of project performance, and performance of risk analysis, all in support of flawless execution.

As the CH-53K transitions into production, technical issue resolution is paramount in the quest to deliver the only helicopter in the world with the capability to travel 100 miles ship to shore with 27,000 lbs. all day long. As a Project Manager, this individual will be directly involved with, and relied upon, to provide these unparalleled capabilities to the United States Marine Corps.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3+ years of professional experience.
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of earned value experience
- Experience on an ACAT 1 full criteria program
- Ability to work and integrate with technical team members to understand all aspects of the product being developed/produced and the earned value implications.
