StaRN Plus Program - Intensive Care Unit 12-13 Weeks

Our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program is innovatively designed to provide intense specialty training to experience licensed nurses.

6 weeks didactic training that combines:

o Classroom discussions & case studies

o Robust Simulation Experience

o Hands-On Clinical Training

6-7 weeks of unit based clinical preceptorship

Certifications achieved: AHA, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI

Additional Information about Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

* 6-bed unit; multidisciplinary dedicated to high acuity
* Types of patients: septic, ventilated, respiratory failure, including CHF, temporary pacers, post cardiac arrest with TTM and chest pain
* Procedures performed: chest tubes, CRRT, intubations, IABP, TTM, brain injury post-stroke after T-pa

* Teamwork heavily focused to promote better patient experience & high quality of care
* Fast paced and collaborative
* A supportive and passionate culture motivated on fostering educational opportunities and specialty certification
* Leaders of ICU have a passion for supporting nurses in reaching their professional goals, excellent practice, and collegial relationships

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 2 years of non-critical care RN experience

Education: Licensed RN in State of New Hampshire or Compact State
