SCHEDULE: Full-time

Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. County-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.

SCHEDULE: 1.0 (40 hours per week)

SHIFT: Days with rotating weekends

POSITION SUMMARY: In addition to the Social Worker I and II, responsibilities, The Clinical Social Worker III has advanced knowledge and skills in Clinical Social Work practice or administration and is distinguished from the MSW by leadership activities in the department including participation in program planning, provision of educational programs, clinical consultation to the social work team, service lines, other departments, the community and patients ranging in age from infancy to geriatric population. He/she may provide clinical supervision to MSWs.

Over two years experience in a health care setting

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Masters in social work (MSW) from an accredited school.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Knowledge & understanding of human behavior, development of personality, adaptation to illness. Effects of hospitalization on patients & families. Knowledge of community resources available. Demonstrated knowledge of skills to work in a clinical specialty. Ability to collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team. Develops positive professional relationship with department staff, physicians & hospital personnel. Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situation. Conversant in Psychosocial Theory.
