CONTROLLERS

The mission of Controllers is to ensure that the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. As part of the firms second line of defense, Controllers provides the critical analysis required while ensuring the internal and external financial information of the firm is accurate. Additionally, Controllers serves an important role in safeguarding the assets of the firm through the independent scrutiny of financial information. Controllers engages regularly with the firms regulators and auditors and through its strong culture of control and challenge helps to protect the firm from reputational and other risks.

FUNDING REPORTING & ANALYSIS

The Reporting & Analysis team within Funding Controllers is responsible for compiling, reporting and analyzing the Firms daily balance sheet and liquidity position to senior management in the Controllers Division, Corporate Treasury, and other revenue divisions for day-to-day management and quarterly projections. The team is also responsible for several key disclosures included in the Firms quarterly filing to the SEC and Federal Reserve relating to the balance sheet of the Firm.

The team is expected to develop a strong understanding of the Firms balance sheet including the various products for each trading and investing desk, the overall day-over-day, month-over-month and quarter-over quarter fluctuations and how that impacts the performance ratios and targets set by the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Preparation and analysis of daily deliverables to senior management (estimated balance sheet, FICC and Equities balances sheets).
* Generation and review of balance sheet statistics included in the monthly management reports used in the oversight of the Firms capital / funding needs.
* Monthly balance sheet estimate vs. actual analysis.
* Preparation and analysis of quarterly disclosures to SEC and Federal Reserve, as well as average balance sheet and segment assets.
* Interaction with Product Controllers, trading desks, Divisional Management and Corporate Treasury to analyze current and historical business trends to establish future business strategy.
* Understand the implication of new accounting pronouncements on the balance sheet.
* Respond to various ad-hoc questions and analysis as they pertain to balance sheet of the Firm.
* Work with Technology teams to automate and enhance Balance Sheet reporting process.
* Mentor and train junior team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Accounting, Economics or Finance degree preferred, but not required.
* CPA, or CFA preferred, but not required.
* Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to clearly articulate ideas.
* The ability to work on a global team of diverse individuals.
* Proactive; the ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment.
* Accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity.
