GDIT, Inc provides healthcare information technology services and resources to help the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) improve the lives of the people they serve. GDIT has an opportunity available for a Senior Database Administrator to support our customers. This position is in Washington, DC. Work from home is in effect until COVID is under control and it is safe to go back to work onsite.

The successful candidate will provide Oracle database administration support in a Unix environment, to development teams in an Agile environment. The Administrator will also participate in high-level database design, code migrations, and customization efforts.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Provide Oracle database development, integration, and operations and maintenance for multiple business intelligence environments
* Deliver administration support to include production, installation, configuration, upgrades, and Oracle patching
* Administration of GoldenGate and setup of data syncing using GoldenGate
* Administration of OBIEE with understanding to Weblogic server
* Develop and customize UNIX shell scripts for database monitoring and application support
* Participate in and provide expertise on database design and customization
* Actively monitor systems for performance and space, provide optimization solutions
* Monitor database security parameters and maintain security controls
* Perform routine backup and recovery operations including RMAN
* Collaborate with other database administrators on the team to ensure interoperability

Qualifications and Education Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technology related degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience. An additional four (4) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement.
* Five (5) years of direct database administration experience required
* Demonstrated experience with ingestion, ETL, tagging, processing, analytics and visualization of unstructured data
* Experience installing and configuring recent Oracle databases such as: 11gRAC, 12c RAC
* Experience with at least one of the following management tools: OBIEE 11g, OBIEE 12c, Weblogic Server, Informatica 9.6/10.2, APEX, GoldenGate 12c and RMAN
* Experience producing high-level system design diagrams
* Experience in migrating code, database changes, data and menus
* Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
* Ability to travel up to 5%, if required

PREFERRED/DESIRED SKILLS:
* Master's degree in engineering, computer science or another related technical field
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members and upper management
* Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
* Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment complex environment
* Agile certification is a plus
* Oracle database 11g/12c RAC Administration
* Oracle GoldenGate Administration and Cloud Service
* Oracle Weblogic Administration
* OBIEE12c/Application Express (APEX) Administration
