Position Summary
A Junior Copywriter is able to interpret business and customer journey and how content (copywriting) plays a role in the interaction between customer and Brand. This person is responsible for supporting and ensuring consistency across the omni-channel retail experience, while building, executing, and communicating results in partnership with a cross-functional team that may include, but not limited to, internal Ecommerce, Merchandising and Store Operations as well as agency teams. A Junior Copywriter ensures consistency across the omnichannel retail experience.
This Junior Copywriter position will be within the Brand Strategy Team. This position serves as support in overseeing the development and production of advertising copy and marketing materials, to include TV/Online Video, Radio/Online Audio, Digital (Display, Email, Ecommerce) and Social communication assets. She/he is responsible for comprehensive project management of their work, maintaining deadlines, escalating issues to their manager and communicating status and needs clearly across teams. This role collaborates with the multiple agencies as well as an internal creative team to ensure that advertising content supports the company's strategic goals meeting all legal requirements and assets are delivered on time and on budget.
Responsibilites:
* Writing clear, compelling copy for various mediums (e.g. ads, emails, product descriptions, etc)
* Helping to develop creative briefs for initiatives and/or campaigns to communicate business and communication objectives, positioning, requirements, and timeline/budget expectations
* Reviewing and providing feedback and approvals on messaging and visual creative to external agency partners and internal creative team
* Researching, gathering and analyzing promotional information and requirements from other departments, including Marketing stakeholders, Pricing, Store Operations, Merchandising and Legal, to inform the approach to and messaging within communications
* Collaborating with Marketing, Product, Commerical and Content teams and through the Enterprise to understand, develop, organize and distribute digital content needs on an ongoing basis
* Keeping projects on schedule by providing timely feedback to all project team members as well as the leadership team
* Monitoring and responding to customer comments about advertising as necessary
* Ensuring consistency in voice and visual creative throughout all communication touchpoints
Requirements:
* BA/BS in Journalism, Business, Marketing, or Communications (MBA preferred)
* 0-2 Years experience in marketing and/or advertising within a National Retailer, CPG company OR advertising agency
* Strong leadership, organizational and project management skills
* Understanding of consumer research
* Proficient in the use of MS Office product suite specifically Excel and PowerPoint
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional presentation skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Talented in problem-solving and understanding of business priorities
* Bilingual considered a plus
