Posted Position: Transportation Supervisor Date of Posting: 4/4/2017 Expected Shifts/hours: All Shifts / Full-Time RESPONSIBILITES: Supervise Transportation Department activities and associates on one shift to ensure that all functions are performed within Company, Distribution Center, and Department guidelines. Ensure that merchandise is delivered to stores in the best possible condition. Work with Procurement and Traffic staff to coordinate backhauls. Maintain pre-set delivery schedules for product movement; apprise management of scheduling problems and follow through per instructions. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper timing for delivery schedules. Maintain good public relations with store management via telephone communications and store visits. Maintain daily customer / driver communications log. Ensure that all drivers abide by all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Ensure that all drivers follow correct check in/out procedures and perform required pre-trip safety checks. Issue road tests as required. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Possess transportation experience including loading of trailers and store delivery procedures. Possess basic knowledge of schedule function. Experience driving diesel-powered tractors helpful. Ability to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results. Possess good communication skills, including public relations skills with Company and outside personnel. General Knowledge of EDP applications and computer capabilities helpful. Prior experience with personal computer applications helpful. Requires analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe and thorough completion of work activities. Possess ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced, hectic environment. Most work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist regarding equipment, machinery, and movement of tractors and trailers, etc.

Skaggs to open his first Albertsons store on 16th and State Streets in Boise, Idaho. determination to run the best store, the first store thrived. Just two years later, he had opened two other stores in neighboring communities and grew the fledgling company’s sales to over $1 million by the end of 1941.
