Job Description

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills as well as influencing the development of manufacturing processes to support this historical and game-changing progression to electric vehicles.



Roles

* Direct report to Material Launch Manager

* Liaison to the build floor Area Managers for launch related issues

* Leads launch activities with support from the departmental Business Manager and other plant personnel

* Utilizes Plant knowledge, relationships and authority to get things done

* Engaged in Program from Vehicle Program Initiation to Launch Team Release (LTR)



Responsibilities

Product Interface & Issue Resolution Process

* Utilize knowledge to analyze major material and specification issues in support of SPQRC

* Actively engaged with the Engineering/Manufacturing counterpart to ensure material requirements are met and executed for each department

* Supports launch leads in coordinating the interaction between material department and other departments for resolution of issues

* Integral member of the problem resolution teams, assisting in resolution of build issues while ensuring that the 7- diamond problem solving process is being utilized

* Supports the change management process for internal process control (tooling, material, etc.)

* Works with the Change Management Coordinator - Develop plans for Build Site Direction (BSD) Production Trial Runs (PTR), Engineering Tryouts (ET), Engineering Work Orders (EWO), etc. during the launch process

* Works with the Change Management Coordinator - Launch to understand all Temporary Work Orders, reworks and part substitutions for their impact on timing

* Provides support during the Daily Wrap up meeting with Manufacturing and Engineering

* Coordinates rework or replacement of parts with support from the material departments and Product Engineering

* Participate in easel board reviews at IVER



Program & Deliverables Timing

* Supports Master Dot activities ensuring updates with appropriate countermeasures

* Support LMS Launch Lead in planning and execution of efficient material flow and set up

* Coordinates material plans with material Systems

* Holds team accountable to achieve manpower targets



Process Validation

* Coordinates delivery of material for builds with emphasis on Safety, Quality and Throughput

* Plays an active role in the development of the dimensional plan

* Drives ergonomic issue resolution

* Assist in GMS implementation utilizing additional support as required

* Supports the review and buy-off material processs and material handling equipment







Education & Training

* Provide direction and training to the material operators

* Support's implementation of lessons learned from previous programs and captures lessons learned during the program execution

* Ensure active participation during the Process Verification Builds (slow builds)



Administration

* Coordinates daily activity of launch personnel

* Manage all activities between PIT/IRT, facilities, equipment and budget

* Establishes roles and responsibilities for the Launch Team

* Attend all Launch Team meetings, including the daily build wrap-up meetings





Qualifications

Required

Degree or equivalent experience related to product launch

Production floor group leader experience

High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

High level of computer, written, and oral communication skills

High level of analytical ability where problems are unusually difficult

Preferred

Knowledge of Engineering Material System (EMS) or Material Global Optimization (MGO)
