Description

Skilled mechanical technician who applies mechanical knowledge to the manufacturing processes. Employee will work under minimal supervision where the primary objective is safe production.

* Performs routine and preventative maintenance on various operating equipment and systems
* May perform basic machining, heavy machinery maintenance and automotive maintenance
* Duties include but are not limited to removal, repair and installation of mechanical components and basic to intermediate troubleshooting
* Must be able to work from SOPs with minimal supervision
* Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business needs

Minimum Qualifications

* One (1) or more years experience in trade OR a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
* Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, plumbing, machine shop, blue prints, schematics, parts lists and equipment
* Knowledgeable and capable of performing welding and cutting operations on a variety of similar and dissimilar metals including over-head and out-of-position angles
* Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for troubleshooting and repair
* Ability to interact effectively with others

Preferred Qualifications

* High School diploma or GED
* Experience serving as an apprentice or equivalent experience working in an industrial machine shop setting
* Basic computer skills
* Mobile crane maintenance experience
* Certification of Mobile Crane Inspections
* Knowledge and understanding of OSHA / ASME regulations
* Mobile Crane operation certification or experience
* Diesel engine troubleshooting and repair abilities
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair low voltage and communication systems

* Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

* Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

* Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

* Work is performed in a manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see and work in confined spaces
* Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to sixty-five (65) pounds) during the course of the workday
* Will be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
* Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required
