Job Summary

Provide technical support to all aspects of the Companys engineering, maintenance and construction programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Inspect and periodically supervise all contractor installations and restorations of gas mains, service lines and Company facilities insuring compliance with Company standards and accepted construction practices.
* Inspect and record all work completed by contractors per Company specifications, including restoration contracts.
* Provide third party contractors with precise location markings of Company mains and related facilities.
* Prepare sketches, drawings, measurements and plot diagrams for new construction, maintenance or repairs of existing gas facilities throughout the system.
* Obtain, interpret and maintain scaled and non-scaled gas distribution maps, records and blueprints, record information concerning all repairs and installation to Company gas facilities.
* Perform locate and other related duties as required; perform duties as SupervisorC&M when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Knowledge of construction methods and practices related to the installation and maintenance of gas facilities, and familiarity of Federal, State, Local Codes and Safety Regulations that govern them.
* Ability to read field records, construction drawings and maps.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential to direct contractors in performing their work in the optimum manner to minimize cost to the company while performing their tasks safely and in compliance.
* Problem solving ability in relation to the technical aspects of facility installations and repairs; reduce misinterpretations relative to technical data included iI maps, drawings, schedules, etc.
* Knowledge of PA One Call Act, knowledge of gas installation procedures per UGI policies, procedures and regulations including the Gas Operations Manual.
* Ideal applicant will have working knowledge of Penn Dot pub 408.

Education and Experience

* High School Diploma or equivalent or five years experience in construction related field.
* Assoc Degree in Mech Design, Engr Technology, Science or Construction Management preferred.
* 5 years progressive experience in the construction industry is typical and preferred.
* Various UGI OQ qualifications.
* Demonstrable computer skills and/or aptitude.
