Job Description

The Scientific and Educational Affairs Manager for Ion Chromatography will be responsible for defining and executing scientific and educational affairs strategy in line with Business Unit and Divisional objectives.

The role demands management in driving initiatives and requires an experienced individual with strong scientific background, influential communications skills, adept business and organizational abilities. We seek a business professional capable of translating customer needs and broader market trends into solutions requirements and go-to-market strategy. Intense engagement, cooperation and management of external KOLs/influencers and internal teams will be instrumental in gathering customer feedback, portfolio solutions/gaps and competitive intelligence. This role will also drive our scientific education strategy.

Specific Responsibilities Include

* Academic and Analytical Sciences Collaboration with KOLs. Build and maintain relationships with KOLs through visiting, developing external speakers and collaborating on projects, including assisting in preparation of papers and designing testing protocols and application development etc. Individual will be responsible for managing IC/SP KOL database and liaising with KOL owners, tracking progress and expanding KOL engagements to novel/next generation influencers.
* Scientific Customer Education. Design and develop customer education materials, and work with CoE, applications, R&D and marketing teams on the customer educational content to improve chemists and technicians Ion Chromatography knowledge, resulting in increased adoption of our consumable and instrument innovations. Manage speaker bureau that delivers webinar programs/lectures on cutting-edge technology and total solutions in trade shows, conferences, on-line webinars and customer workshops, resulting in increased adoption of new and existing applications.
* Scientific Marketing Content. Advising and managing business unit publication strategy in peer reviewed journals, trade media and conferences. Contribute to the creation of content for marketing collateral including white papers, presentations, case studies, blogs, eBooks, primers, protocols, videos, selection guides, and customer success stories.
* Voice of Customer (VOC) conduit to business unit assisting in data driven decision making by engaging with thought leaders across segments.
* Working on special projects as assigned in connection with the Business Unit goals and strategy

Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements

* Bachelors degree required, preferably in physical or life science, chemistry or engineering discipline. Masters or PhD or related advanced degree desired.
* Experience in applied and life sciences area, with Ion Chromatography experience a strong plus
* 3-5 years of experience in R&D, marketing or related functions
* Strong organizational, planning and executional skills
* Effective at building strong relationships using a collaborative approach
* Ability to understand technology and articulate strong customer value/benefit propositions is critical.
* Demonstrated confidence in written, interpersonal and oral communication is essential
* Proactive, independent, assertive, self-starter with the ability to work with a diverse and global team within a matrix organization.
* Ability to travel 30% - domestic & international
