How will you make an impact?

The Manager of the Digital Content Management team is a leader with expertise in digital content strategy, content management, and content governance who is a tireless advocate for the customer experience. The Manager, Digital Content Management will oversee a team of digital content managers who are responsible for ensuring that marketing web content adheres to best practices in information architecture (IA), editorial and brand style, user experience (UX), design, and web strategy. The successful candidate is passionate about delivering highly effective digital content on thermofisher.com, has an Agile mindset, and is able to build strong and collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders.

What will you do?

* Manage and coach a team of digital content managers to ensure that digital content is accurate, consistent, and complete, and adheres to digital, editorial, SEO, and brand standards
* Help develop and modify resource plans for current and future capacity; hire, onboard, and train digital content managers and contractors; manage vendor relationships
* Guide the team in establishing and enforcing website content guidelines, documenting and training on content best practices, and advising on web content strategy
* Provide leadership in Agile values and principles
* Guide the team to identify continual process and operations improvements to ensure that high-quality digital content is delivered as efficiently as possible
* Track, summarize, and report team operational analytics to understand needs and trends
* Proactively stay knowledgeable of best practices and trends in digital content and recommend improvements based on current best practices
* Train and guide the team to follow all processes, style guides, templates, and brand guidelines, to author and edit in content management systems, and to build their expertise in digital content tools and systems
* Guide the team in identifying content optimization and cleanup opportunities, advising on location of new marketing pages within the site hierarchy, and providing feedback on optimizing content for search engines
* Analyze internal and external customer needs, participate in voice of customer studies, and advise on content aspects of A/B testing
* Analyze content performance and web feedback, and use those data to suggest updates to web content guidelines and recommended content practices
* Support the team in assessing, managing, and prioritizing requests
* Lead departmental special projects as needed

How will you get here?

* Bachelors degree
* Experience writing and editing scientific marketing content
* Experience managing marketing and product content on websites within content management systems
* Experience in the life sciences industry or laboratory experience preferred
* Keen attention to detail and a high regard for content quality
* Impeccable writing, grammar, and proofreading skills and sophisticated knowledge of English usage (grammar, spelling, punctuation, language usage, audience sensitivity) and scientific content types
* Understanding of web disciplines such as user experience, taxonomy and tagging, information architecture, content marketing, componentized content, digital marketing, analytics, and testing
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
* Strong project management, relationship management, and critical thinking skills
* Strong organization, verbal communication, and presentation skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects within shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to drive content and process improvements
* Experience with Agile principles and Agile project management preferred
* Experience in web analytics, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI) preferred
* Ability to travel at low frequency for team, project, and business meetings
