Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The SRC is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments. They also prepare items for shipment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Compare identifying information and verify items of incoming and outgoing shipments against records
* Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils to include identifying shipping information
* Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
* Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
* Routes items to departments. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
* Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
* Operate forklift or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
* Operate scale to weigh incoming shipments to verify quantities
* Stock the material from floor to warehouse location, pulling material from location to shop floor.
* Keep daily inventory activities in log and forward to Receiving Clerk to enter into computer
* Use SAP to inquiry the inventory status.
* Other duties as assigned by leadership
REQUIREMENTS
Education Required:
* HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
Work Experience Required:
* 1 year previous work in shipping/receiving department
* SAP input experience preferred
Skills & Knowledge Required:
* Ability to read blueprints, calipers, and hex gauges.
* Ability to be forklift certified
* Ability to read, write and comprehend basic work instructions, short correspondence and memos
* Mathematical aptitude and ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
* Capable of using common sense understanding to carry our detailed instructions including written and oral
* Computer proficiency including use of Microsoft office and SAP
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
* Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands
* Required to lift and/or move 10 lbs regularly and up to 33 lbs occasional
* Use of vision including peripheral, color, distance, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
* Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, strong fumes and loud noises
Occasionally exposed to extreme temperatures
