Job Description

The Financial Analyst will be a key contributor to the NAM Performance Controlling team in the Closing & Financial Reporting (CLFR) group. The role reports to the Sr. Director, Finance (Performance Controlling - CLFR) and calls for participation in all facets of the functions of the group closing activities, financial reporting, KPI analysis, budget/forecast, and ad hoc projects and reports. The primary focus of this position will be on the NAM Diagnostics closing, reporting and analysis processes, and will require interaction with key contacts in LD/POC business areas, Contract Accounting, Service, Commissions and GL Accounting to ensure success.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

* Coordination of the NAM DX closing from the Performance Controlling perspective. This includes alignment with the business on key journal vouchers to be booked (both standard monthly and ad hoc, as required), ensuring proper timing of key SAP jobs to be run in conjunction with the Accounting team, and ongoing analysis to ensure proper statement of books & records.
* Perform critical trend and variance analyses during monthly close process, and completion of P&L and Balance Sheet Analytics to meet several requirements:

* Validation that monthly financials are accurate prior to closing the books
* Provide initial indications to management regarding financial results for the month, including key drivers
* Interaction with Business Areas to derive monthly closing commentary and variance drivers

* Perform account reconciliations for accounts in scope and participate in quarterly audit activities. Maintain and perform key controls in scope of closing and reconciliation activities.
* Contribute to the annual Puerto Rico audit and quarterly filings
* Ability to analyze balance sheet data and participate in forecasting of key positions as needed
* Perform historical and/or trend analysis on key business components (volume/gross profit, SG&A, cash flow, headcount, etc.)
* Perform ad hoc analysis and work on project teams as required

The successful candidate will have a background with experience in monthly close activities, budgeting/forecasting, and various types of financial analysis (preferably 7-10 years). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must, and experience with SAP and think-cell is desired; ability to effectively utilize Excel macros to gain efficiencies a plus. Minimal travel (10%) may be required.
