Our team builds distributed services that handle planning, provisioning, life cycle management of source code management services. We are reimagining the provisioning and life cycle management of source code to provide strong guarantees of security and availability with our new large scale distributed services. Our services expose highly available, source code management capabilities for our cloud customers.
We're looking for hands-on leader with strong management experience to come lead and build a team responsible for building in distributed systems and highly available services. As a Senior Manager/director of Development, you will own and manage a team of software engineers responsible for the software architecture and development for major components of Oracle's Cloud . You should be comfortable with low level operating systems development, be able to architect broad systems interactions, while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and higher level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of management experience in enterprise software
- 7+ years of experience with applications development with 4+ years in large scale distributed applications / web services
- Good at programming in object oriented languages such as Java/C++/C and Python
- Bachelors in computer science and Engineering or related engineering fields
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience
- Prior development experience with developer productivity tools a plus
- Bachelors/Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
