Job Summary

As a member of the NetApp Worldwide Professional Services (PS) Contracts negotiation team, you are a key contributor to accelerating sales efforts through effective contract structure and compliance. You are a specialist in reviewing and revising PS customer statements of work (SOWs) to reduce business and contractual risk. In this role, you will review new scope offerings for standardization and create scope drafting guidelines. You will also support NetApp Legal during agreement negotiations as a PS subject matter expert. As a member of the PS Contracts team, you will create agreement summaries of customer and NetApp terms which govern PS engagements and maintain online libraries with supporting PS documentation and guidelines to expedite sales. You are passionate about process improvements and implementing efficiencies. You are extraordinary at communication and practice active listening as a partner to sales and customers. You support the business requirements and enable flexibility to document non-standard elements to address customer needs.

Job Responsibilities

The key functions of the individual to execute on the Worldwide PS Contracts charter include:

- SOW reviews and negotiations for NetApps Professional Services engagements

- Support NetApp Sales, PS Field and PS Engagement Desk with customer statement of work reviews

- Coordinate reviews in partnership with Sales, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Revenue Accounting, as may be applicable to the deal

- Minimize corporate risk. Think creatively to identify and resolve common contractual issues.

- Develop and implement knowledge of products, services, and organizational structure

- Manage and maintain the Global PS Operations Policy including implementation, training, and governance

- As a team player, build trust and global cross functional team and customer relationships

- Develop a deep understanding and provide guidance on the Services and Support strategy to the field

- Partner with Services Operations teams, Finance, Legal and other key stakeholders to understand what commitments NetApp can include and successfully fulfill within a statement of work

Job Requirements

In-depth knowledge in the following areas is essential:

* A minimum of 2 years supporting Professional Services (PS) in a contracts or legal support role *

Experience in supporting negotiations as a PS vendor in all types of arrangements - traditional statements of work, subscription models and cloud services
Use of executive communications tools such as MS Office suite, PowerPoint and collaboration tools such as SharePoint

Understanding of business law and computer technology
A passion and track record for operational excellence

The following areas of knowledge are a plus:

In depth knowledge of Professional Services operations processes, tools, and limitations to avoid breach of customer commitments
NetApps corporate policies governing Professional Services
Solid background of the PS transactional flow

Key Requirements

Possess highly-developed organization skills and be articulate, hard-working, and detail-oriented, with excellent proof reading skills
Experience in internal and external contract negotiation, specifically in PS
Ability to positively influence behavior of multiple stakeholders including ability to successfully balance the interests of the customer with maintaining a viable financial outcome for NetApp
Ability to handle concurrent multiple, complex assignments
Focus on goal orientation and achievement to include understanding of PS delivery commitments, revenue recognition, and Sarbanes Oxley impacts for PS related to software companies
Patience, flexibility, and sensitivity to customers and business stakeholders
Able to accommodate minimal business travel

Responsibility and Interaction:
o Develop close alignment to strategy and ability to influence business outcomes for World Wide Services and Support Organization
o Constantly focus on looking at opportunities to simplify and improve
o Maintain relevant content in the SharePoint libraries
o Internally, this individual must work effectively with senior level employees within the function and across related functions
o Externally this individual must work well with customers and partners during negotiations while supporting NetApps risk profile
o This individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently with minimal supervision
o The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert
o Consistent, timely, and accurate results are required to be successful

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree; or 3-5 years and a Masters degree; or equivalent combination of relevant education/certifications/training and applicable professional work experience.
