Responsibilities:u202F

The Silicon Engineering and Solutions team is seeking passionate, driven and intellectually curious engineers to join our SoC development team covering micro-architecture implementation, RTL Coding, IP integration, Circuit Design and design quality assurance, for our projects.u202F This new team will be involved in numerous projects within Microsoft developing custom silicon for a diverse set of systems.u202F We are responsible for delivering cutting-edge, custom SoC designs that can perform complex and high-performance functions in the most efficient manner.u202F In this high impact role on the team, you will be responsible to:u202F

* Hands-on design of SRAM memory and Register file/ROM circuits and compiler timing/power characterization, netlists, circuit integrity checks.
* SRAM Compiler evaluation, working directly with compiler vendors, gathering of specs from arch and design for all components of SoC, and hands-on memory generation for all SoC IP needs.
* Technical readiness activities and power/performance/cost/area optimization for the memories including memory Vmin tradeoffs and end-of-life guard band assessment.
* Design and implement custom digital circuits for SRAM design where necessary to meet the high speed and high-performance specs.
* Understand the complete design flow, DFT and testing aspect of the design and apply the proper design hooks necessary in the memories.
* Define the methodology and design and automate wrappers and DFT insertion for ease of integration.
* Memory array/IP design, bit cell, complex periphery design, memory circuit innovation, RTL and Physical design/execution/validation.
* Pre/post-Si validation/debug to enable yield and parametric tracking/ramp.
* Coordination with multiple functional groups within the SoC organization as well as IP providers and Integrators. Exhibit One Microsoft mindset to establish synergies.
* Perform design quality checks such as Lint, CDC, Low Power Intent and other circuit quality checks.
* Delight your customers who receive your deliverable by providing high quality functional block on schedule and with professional integrity.

Requirements:u202F

* Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree, Masters / PhD preferred.
* 8+ years of experience in working on SRAM and other forms of array design.

Additional Preferred one or more of these Requirements:

* Understanding of process variation and high-sigma memory sign-off.
* Background and understanding of Computer Architecture, Digital Design, CPU/SoC design and verification principles as part of CPU, SoC and/or IP development teams.u202F
* Applied understanding of low power design principles.u202F
* Highly Proficient in Verilog/System Verilog coding constructs.
* Knowledge of front-end tools (Verilog simulators, Connectivity tools, CDC checkers, low power static checkers, linting)
* Strong understanding in clock crossing techniques
* Strong understanding in UPF (Low power intent).
* Ability to write scripts using Perl, Tcl, Python etc.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* 5-10+ years of experience in working on SRAM and other forms of array design.
* Working with advance process technologies.
* Industry standard CAD tools/flows for digital and/or analog design
* CMOS custom circuit design, simulation, layout design and verification
