Description:
Performs various types of mechanical and electrical inspections on raw material, in-process machining and assembly, final inspection, receiving inspection, and routine first pieces on fabricated, subcontracted and/or purchased parts. Supports facility inspection needs and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Must have a good understanding of shop math and blueprint reading and interpretation including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5. Must be familiar with and capable of learning the use of all measuring instruments, tools and gages required to perform various mechanical inspection functions. Basic computing literacy required. Must be familiar with and capable of learning all software associated with the mechanical inspection function and the calibration system. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Must have a thorough knowledge of the correct procedures to follow and precautions to take when performing their work in order to prevent damage to equipment and/or material and injury to themselves and/or others. Must be able to properly document in a neat and legible manner all types of errors or discrepancies found. Maintains records of results. May require the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Position may require the ability to work second shift and overtime as required.

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

Ability to read blueprint, work instructions and interpret engineering drawing requirements.

Near vision of 20/20 and far vision of 20/50 is required. .

This may be achieved with corrective lenses, which then must be used during inspections and tests. Color perception must be normal if the nature of a particular task demands it.

Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computing literacy.
Availability for overtime.

Candidate must be a US citizen.
Desired Skills:
Navigating SAP in areas concerning confirmations, reviewing characteristics,
MRCs and QNOTES.
Technical writing for documenting issues on rejection paperwork.
Demonstrated computer skills areas of LM tools, SAP, Flexnet, PAL, PLM, and IPT Database.
