UP Health System - Marquette
Responsible for screening and reporting of negative gynecological cytology cases.
Performs procedures and protocols in Cytology, Histology, and Pathology.
Performs screening of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, reports any negative gynecological specimens, and refers any non-gynecological and abnormal gynecological specimens to the pathologist.
Performs required quality control for procedures and necessary quality assurance.
Prepares stains and solutions used in processing specimens/ slides. Correctly operates and performs necessary maintenance on cytology equipment.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
* Bachelor's degree required
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
Required Skills
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications
* ASCP or equivalent registry required
Licenses
* Valid driver license required
