Job Description
UP Health System - Marquette
Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting clinical data elements in the Trauma Program.
Analyzes, compares and evaluates data in all performance improvement projects and works on developing an action plan as needed.
Assists in the collection of data elements as required by the regulatory agencies.
Serves as a resource for clinical practice for both nursing and physician staff.
Developing a plan of injury prevention activities for the year in coordination with the trauma coordinator.
Incorporating injury prevention activities in the yearly plan based on the most common injuries found in the trauma registry.
Focusing injury prevention on the most common injuries seen in the Upper Peninsula.
Developing injury prevention programs including powerpoint presentations, lectures and hands on activities for all ages, child through the elderly.
Working with other organizations to coordinate injury prevention activities.
Develop or assist other organizations with scheduled injury prevention activities on behalf of Marquette General Health System Trauma Department.
Work with other departments at MGH to coordinate injury prevention activities.
Report injury prevention activities to the Trauma Department.
Attend and organize injury prevention meetings as available.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
* Associates degree in Nursing required
* Bachelors degree preferred
Required Skills
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses
* Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Michigan required
Certifications
* Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required
* Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required (within 90 days of hire)
Minimum Work Experience
* 2 years RN experience required
* 1 year in trauma patient care required
