Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically-advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. It is a certified Chest Pain Center, county-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center, designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and is certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.

SCHEDULE: 0.01 (Per Diem), SHIFT: As Needed

POSITION SUMMARY:
Renders professional nursing care to patients in the Endoscopy Unit. Supports medical care as directed by a physician; functions in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; meets competency standards for orientation and at least annually thereafter. Meets responsibilities and performance standards of a RN I. Functions as a clinically competent nurse who provides safe and effective nursing care in a particular area of practice.

Qualifications

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: CA RN, BLS

Preferred: ACLS

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: One year Endoscopy and Conscious Sedation experience

Preferred:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum: Graduation from an accredited nursing school

Preferred: BSN

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Minimum: Conscious sedation monitoring.

Preferred: Able to assist MD with Endoscopy procedures.
