Overview:
The Crude Oil Strategy & Analysis group is embedded in the Global Feedstocks Value Chain organization. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is able to pair an understanding of commercial crude oil operations and strategy development with strong analytical skills. Primary interaction will be with the Crude Oil Leadership, Refining, Refinery Feedstock Coordinators, Crude Oil Traders, Crude Oil Schedulers, Legal, Business Development, and 3rd party logistics partners.
Responsibilities:
The Crude Oil Strategy & Analysis group is responsible for informed decision-making in developing and supporting MPCs crude oil logistics strategy. The successful candidate will seek opportunities to create value through asset utilization, logistical optimization, and alternative storage options. The analyst will work closely with MPLX to identify growth opportunity projects that benefit both entities. The successful candidate will analyze pipeline, terminal and storage commitments and will assist leadership in negotiating contract terms.
Requirements:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, and a minimum of 8-10 years of industry experience. A minimum 5 years commercial experience with crude experience preferred.
The position requires strong teamwork, communication, presentation, critical thinking, negotiation, and Excel skills. Commercial crude experience is highly preferred. Prior experience in trading analytics, business development or scheduling is a plus. Grade level will be based on experience. Position is located in either our Findlay or Houston office.
