GDIT is looking for an Engineering & Special Projects/Task Lead to serve on the Special Projects Team for this large, complex task order. The successful candidate will lead, plan, coordinate, and execute special projects implementations, including security, integration, configuration, and testing; manage and document system configurations; oversee project and systems transitions into O&M; and create and maintain technical documentation to ensure efficient project planning and execution. Under the guidance of the Program's technical director and special projects team manager, our Engineering & Special Projects/Task Leads are responsible for the overall management of all assigned projects, ensure that project technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner, and perform enterprise-wide horizontal integration and planning (e.g., for interfaces to other functional systems), including: development of systems requirements and systems phasing plans; business application consultation; problem tracking/management; and preparation and presentation of project, engineering, and technical briefs and other artifacts to the client. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Oversees implementations of highly complex infrastructure, operating systems, application software, and/or system management tools
Provides solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
Leads and/or contributes to the completion of other technical projects or tasks
Supports development of solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems
Provides engineering support across the full-life cyle of critical and highly complex mission systems
Prepares and maintains a wide range of documentation for processes and procedures related to projects
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and works with management to evolve current processes
May review the work of, provide guidance to, and/or coach less-experienced professionals
Required Skills / Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship
DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
BS and 8+ years of experience (or equivalent)
Desired Skills / Qualifications:
15+ years of relevant experience
5+ years of directly relevant experience in IT project management or leading IT project/task efforts
Master's degree in computer or systems engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
Experience with large scale, enterprise IT O&M, technologies, and programs
Experience in AWS GovCloud
Certifications: PMP, ITIL v3/v4, and/or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect
