GDIT is seeking Data Cloud Engineer. This position focuses on Azure and Microsoft technology consulting for applications and analytics, Power BI, and the Power Platform plus Dynamics 365. This role is for someone who is passionate about developing innovative analytics solutions to help organizations drive strategic business outcomes and to enable data-driven insights. You will be responsible for client delivery, complex solutioning, and knowledge management. Design, Build, and Modify existing business-tier components, Web applications using Microsoft platform technologies and Azure in consulting capacity (Azure Data Factory for middle tier integration).
The overall program supports the sustainment, operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the D365-based systems and their integrations with the VA's enterprise supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) suite utilized by 70,000 VA employees. Previous experience working with MS Dynamics 365 / Dynamics CRM /Dynamics Customer Experience (CE) applications) is required. Experience working in support of Federal, State, or Tribal Governments, or a health care client is highly desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Azure PaaS services and functions deployment in the development and data spaces
* Application development in azure ecosystem using .net Core, WEB API, Azure, algorithms and data structures
* Design and implement end-to-end data solutions (storage, integration, processing, visualization) in Azure
* Design and implement database solutions in Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure SQL
* Implement ad-hoc analysis solutions using Azure Data Lake Analytics/Store, HDInsight
* Architect and implement ETL and data movement solutions using Azure Data Factory, SSIS
* Design and implement streaming solutions using Kafka or Azure Stream Analytics
* Design and develop data visualizations leveraging Data from various Azure tools, Splunk, Science Logic and produce reports in Power BI, Science Logic, Tableau etc.
* Prepare documentation and architectural designs
* Propose architectures that consider cost/spend in Azure and develop recommendations to right-size Azure data infrastructure
* Design & implement data security and governance policies and standards
* Work as part of a team to design and develop analytics platform solutions
* Implement Azure data services including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory and Azure Analysis Services. May also include Snowflake or Azure SQL Data Warehouse
* Design and develop scalable data ingestion frameworks to transform a wide variety of datasets
* Research, analyze, recommend and select technical approaches for solving challenging and complex development and integration problems
* Assist in designing multi-phased Azure data strategies, including designing multi-phased implementation roadmaps
* Serve as a subject matter expert in Azure analytics platforms for larger team and contribute back to community
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and 7+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Experience using advanced software and system design skills in an environment using Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL Managed Instance, Data Factory, Azure Monitoring, Azure DevOps, Event Hubs, Azure AD Security, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Monitoring/Log Analytics)
* 4+ years of experience with data warehouse technical architectures, ETL/ ELT, reporting/analytic tools and, scripting
* 2+ years real-word experience implementing production Azure or science logic/ cloud telemetry analytics platforms
* Experience with Azure SDKs and programmatic access services
* Experience writing scripts using MS Powershell
* Experience writing complex SQL queries (to clean and transform data)
* Work with similar Microsoft on-prem data platforms, specifically SQL Server and related technologies such as SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS
* Strong knowledge of database, storage, collection and aggregation models, techniques and technologies - and how to apply them in business
* Working experience with version control platforms
* Working knowledge of agile development including DevOps concepts
Desired Skills and Experience
* Azure certifications
* Familiarity with Azure IoT, Azure HDInsight + Spark, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Databricks, Azure Stream Analytics
* Experience building data solutions using C and/or Python
* Experience preparing data for Data Science and Machine Learning use cases
* Designing and building Data Pipelines using streams of IoT data
* Knowledge of Lambda and Kappa architecture patterns
* Consulting experience
* Agile development process experience or Scrum Master Experience
* Demonstrated ability to document, measure, and improve business processes
* Understanding of business process mapping and re-engineering

The likely salary range for this position is $69,888 - $104,832, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
