Become a Substation Field Tools Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, youll be a part of Transmission & Distributions Compliance Development group and will support all Substation field tools and will be a liaison between Substation Construction and Maintenance (SC&M) field personnel and the Information Technology (IT) group. This person will develop, test, and maintain the different Substation field tools and software programs. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
* Assist IT with Corporate Software roll outs (i.e. Windows 10).
* Maintain SIMS Profiles for Software.
* Provide expertise as a SME for Patch Management HMI patch deployment.
* Support Consolidated Mobile Solutions (CMS)
* Initiating the SC&M removal media exception process
* Trouble shoot and maintain hardware.
* Maintain Shared Servers that house data for the different work groups.
* Maintain Security Group for Admin Rights.
Qualifications
The Essentials
* Seven or more years of electric utility Substation experience or experience supporting electric utility industry IT Tools.
* Valid Drivers License.
The Preferred
* Bachelors or higher level of education in Computer Engineering or related technical field.
* Two or more years of experience with any of the following tools: CMS, TCA, SCADA, HMI, Doble Protection Suite, or software within the LENS repository.
* Two or more years of experience relating to Substation design, automation systems, construction and/or Substation maintenance and operations.
* Experience in security patching of Substation Equipment or patching Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
* Proficient in Microsoft Access or similar database programs.
* Engineering experience utilizing programming languages (e.g. PYTHON, JAVA, VBA, SAS) to perform distribution system analysis for large data sets.
* Project Management experience.
* Experience working with SAP.
* Experience working with external vendors to successfully implement solution applications.
* Technical writing skills.

* Relocation does not apply to this position.
* Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
* This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

* This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
