As a Cloud Engineering Lead, you will be a leader and key member of Ecolabs Enterprise Data program. This group is tasked with providing a globally cloud-hosted repository of business and performance data from a variety of sources: SAP and other ERP systems, Master Data Management (MDM) systems, regional and international enterprise data stores, and internal solution support systems. This data is vital for enabling Ecolabs various businesses to create insightful analytics for the monitoring and enhancement of business and customer outcomes. This position entails technical leadership transcending the operational enablement and technical strategies of Ecolab. The successful candidate will need to have abilities in both engineering and technology design to envision successful solution delivery while providing technical expertise to guide engineering and fulfillment. The Engineering Lead will report to the Global Director of Enterprise Data Architecture and will collaborate with other global technology teams to ensure alignment to enterprise data standards. This is a key role supporting Ecolabs long-term cloud and digital strategy for analytics and on-demand business data analysis. This position has long-term potential to move into an architectural role if desired.

Position Details:

* Location: This position can sit in either St. Paul, MN or Naperville, IL
* Travel: Up to 10% of the time

What You Will Do:

* Own the technical leadership role: provide operational leadership for technology design to effectively deliver digital solutions at a consistently high level
* Perform and deliver key thought leadership in areas of data engineering: modeling, integration, big data and cloud solution design, data warehousing, and data discovery
* Define service commitment standards via SLO publication and ownership
* Engage architecture and operational teams to collaboratively deliver strategic roadmaps for enterprise and divisional data reporting and analytic solutions
* Collaborate as technical data expert for assisting enterprise business platforms to integrate with global data solution strategy
* Lead and facilitate evaluation of vendors and emerging technology solutions
* Contribute to the creation of processes for improving data quality across the enterprise

Minimum Qualifications:

* 5 years of technical delivery experience
* Progressive experience in operational data delivery: demonstrate thought leadership, technical ownership, and solution design skills
* Hands-on experience with data engineering solutions in cloud environments, preferably Azure
* Knowledge of ETL and ELT patterns
* Experience with different data and scripting languages, such as SQL and Python
* Desire to advance career in technical solution leadership in data engineering or architecture
* Ability to work independently, establishing strategic objectives, project plans, and milestones

Preferred Qualifications:

* 10 years of technical delivery experience
* Cloud data warehouse implementation experience using Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or other cloud data warehouse solutions
* Data catalog implementation experience
* Experience implementing Azure Data Factory (ADF) solutions
* Knowledge of security design, vulnerability analysis, and threat mitigation
