Charles Schwab Investment Management Technology provides application strategy, development and support for the Investment Management teams located in San Francisco CA, Denver CO and Chicago IL. Applications support the investment life cycle to include front office functions such as Equity and Fixed Income Trading, Portfolio Management, Investment Risk and Trade Compliance.
We are looking for a senior programmatic tester with demonstrated ability to test applications within the financial space in a data centric environment. This is a senior level individual contributor position aimed at delivering test automation to the Direct Indexing team.
What you are good at
* Above all else youre an engineer and a full stack tester (Data-Services-UI). You solve problems through automation. Youre curious and hungry to learn new things and look to make a long-lasting impact on the project.
* You tested testing complex systems in the past. You have experience testing web applications (Angular) and data (SQL). You know how to create your own REST services (in any language) and are familiar with parsing JSON and XML.
* You worked in an Agile environment in the past. Iterative test development and working as part of a distributed engineering team doesnt scare you.
* You contribute to open source projects. If you have github.com contributions wed love to check them out
* Youre lifelong learner. Youre able to grasp difficult concepts and complex designs and stays on top of new and emerging technologies. Do you have a stackoverflow.com account?
What you have
* 5+ years of Cloud experience with AWS
* 5 years of experience working with the following AWS services
* AWS Batch
* DMS (Database Migration Service)
* LAMBDA
* ECS (Elastic Container Service)
* ECR (Elastic Container Registry)
* Solid understanding of Cloud architectures and best practices (incl. security)
* 7+ years of strong, demonstrable experience working as software developer or SDET using Java programming language
* Experience testing RESTful web using test automation frameworks. Ability to parse nested JSON/ XML.
* Practical knowledge and use of Design Patterns (Strategy, Factory, Singleton etc.)
* Experience using git as source control system (cherry-pick, merge conflict resolution should be second nature to you)
* Comfort with the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr Tests)
* Experience mentoring junior level engineers a strong plus
Preferred Skills:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or similar area of study
* Good understanding of investment/trading life cycle and be familiar with compliance use cases and data requirements to support the lifecycle
