The Energy & Transportation Purchasing organization currently has an opening for a Strategy Consultant within the Casting Segment at Mossville, Illinois. As a Strategy leader, you will be accountable for executing and governing the E&T Castings Strategy to increase the category performance levels in support of E&T Purchasing and Business Unit goals to deliver maximum customer value. You will play a critical role in driving key strategic initiatives and actions while collaborating with senior leaders within the industry verticals of the casting category to execute medium to long-term corporate strategies. As a member of the departments leadership team, you will also provide important and strategic input and facilitation and be a key enabler for the Department Head.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Lead strategy execution to improve results for department and division positively impacting Supplier Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) targets to deliver maximum customer value
* As part of continuous improvement and strategy refresh, drive the process of data analysis of customer feedback, employee feedback, marketplace analysis, competitive implications, supplier performance and the financial implications to name a few
* Be responsible for project management; Identify, plan and direct strategy projects viewed as critical to department
* Prioritize critical issues and remove roadblocks through efficient decision-making
* Provide strategic guidance to Category managers and be a trusted advisor to Department Head, often leading (or co-leading) strategic initiatives that are outside of our organization. Example: Ferrous casting category council meetings
* Identifying improvement opportunities and enterprise-wide implementation of those improvements
* Attend various meetings to keep a pulse on the business and help connecting the dots with others across the industry verticals
* Plan staff meetings, department meetings, events, off-sites, and strategic planning governance reviews
* Organize and facilitate leadership meetings, ensuring clear action items and timely follow-up
* Manage department metrics, scorecards and supporting management tools to monitor Segment performance and develop processes to drive improvement
* Coordinate annual business plan, department expense budgets, results
* Responsible for driving internal and external communication and change management that supports and accelerates impact of the department
* Ensure solid relationships internal and external to the department, be accessible, responsive and focus on delivery with fierce execution
* Limited travel required (less than 30%)
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution
* 10+ years of Project Management/Leadership in the Heavy Equipment Industry
* Experience working with procurement systems (Lognet or equivalent)
* Experience with data analysis tools like PowerBI and Microsoft Excel
Top Candidates will also have:
* Experience is preferred in purchasing with exposure to casting and/or machining category
* Exceptional organizational, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
* The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile and fast-paced environment
* Strong analytical skills are required to perform detailed analysis and prepare strategic plans
* Consistently meeting ambitious deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule
* Strong facilitation skills
* Ability to distill high level communication into meaningful context and actions
* Demonstrated ability to navigate and positively influence in a large matrix organization and work closely with senior management
* Excellent communication and presentation skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
* Proven ability to diagnose and find innovative solutions to unique and complex problems on a regular basis
* Working knowledge and application of 6 Sigma, CPS tools and Lean methodologies
* Strong interpersonal skills are a must in dealing with confidential information, sensitive issues and controversial situations and maintain a constructive environment
* Maintains positive and can-do attitude and approach to work
* MBA or Master's degree
