The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Technical Data Designer to join the Ogden Engineering team with the focus being on the development of new Air Force Organizational-level, Intermediate-level, and depot-level Technical Orders (T.O.s) covering operations and maintenance procedures, Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB), work unit code manuals, Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO), Commercial off-the Shelf (COTS) manuals, and calibration manuals for the Minuteman III missile system. This Level 3 position will physically reside at Hill AFB, UT.

Position Responsibilities

* Develops all publication elements for all levels of maintenance for a new or fielded major equipment system or multiple sub systems
* Collects, researches and analyzes source data
* Identifies source data inaccuracies and takes corrective action
* Develops technical publication project plan, budget and baseline schedules
* Conducts peer reviews of completed publication elements
* Participates in or conducts customer technical and program reviews

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)

* 3 years' of experience with MS Office Suite products
* 3 years' of technical writing experience
* Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or higher
* Experience creating and documenting maintenance operations
* Experience with Minuteman III weapon system operations and maintenance activities and VAFB Test Launch processes is a PLUS
* Experience and proficiency in the following software tools is highly desired: Arbortext Editor Authoring in Hyper Test Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Markup Language (XML) or Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) format.
* Adobe Illustrator to generate illustrations
* Adobe Acrobat to create markups to legacy T.O.s
* MS Office Suite products to generate TCTOs and T.O. source data
* Excellent communication skills
* Self-starter, ability to work in a technical environment

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
