This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment, Connection Systems business unit.
Summary (About this Position):
The North America Connection Systems Team has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Electrical Product Engineer in Warren, OH at our Champion Technical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the advanced signal integrity development, design and validation for automotive data connection systems utilizing coaxial and Ethernet technology.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for EMC/SI/RF design.
* Run High Frequency Structure Simulations (HFSS) for product development.
* Test PCB Design, Sourcing and Validation.
* Product development and ownership from concept through product launch.
* Product validation including test planning and results interpretation.
* Customer and supplier interactions/presentations.
* Deliver high performance electrical designs.
* Ensure strong collaboration with mechanical team and customers.
* Validation of designs in the simulation world models.
* Validation of designs in the physical world with actual parts.
* Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
Must Haves (i.e. Basic Qualifications):
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* 2+ years experience in product engineering OR electrical engineering.
Nice to Haves (i.e. Preferred Qualifications):
* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Familiarity with Automotive specifications USCAR, TC9, LV214, GMW, etc.
* Familiarity with RF & Ethernet functionality and/or design.
* Familiarity with PCB design and testing..
* Familiarity with High-Speed Structure Simulation (HFSS)
* Ability to operate Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) and/or Time-Domain Reflectometer (TDR).
* Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities.
* Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, etc.).
* Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
* Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team.
* Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently.
