This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment.

Summary:

Our electrical technicians participate in the development of innovative interior sensing technology designed to enhance the safety and comfort of the vehicle cabin. Interior sensing is a new and rapidly growing area that provides life-saving products such as driver drowsiness/attention monitoring, seat belt recognition, and left-behind child detection, as well as convenience features such as gesture recognition. In this role, you will be supporting global engineering teams by building and maintaining demonstration systems and prototypes of the next generation of interior sensing systems.

Responsibilities:

* Construct/assemble interior sensing prototypes consisting of test fixtures, ECUs, cables, cameras and other components.

* Perform functional testing of components and complete systems to ensure proper operation.

* Diagnose and repair broken or non-functioning components.

* Manage system installations in demonstration and customer-owned vehicles.

* Manage hardware builds with protolab and/or external suppliers.

* Maintain inventory of common components.

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

* Associates degree in EET or similar discipline

* 3+ years of experience building and repairing electronic components with small parts

* Track record of diagnosing and solving hardware problems using a methodical process

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

* Bachelors degree in EET or similar discipline

* Comfortable working with vehicles; experience doing electrical installations or customization's

* Experience with software development including ability to write small programs in C/C++

* Familiarity with CAD tools for both electrical and mechanical design

* Familiarity with Microsoft Office macro development
