Purpose and Objective:
Ariba, Inc seeks a Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, quality assurance of specific product features in a development team.

Expectations and Tasks:
Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code. Demonstrate full responsibility for accepted tasks and therefore demonstrates a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency. Work closely together with other team members to ensure the team success. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and works on other tasks for the benefit of the team. If acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, promote and support Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Facilitate Scrum Events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the Development Teams progress.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and 5 years of experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 2 years of experience.

Work Experience:
Experience must involve 2 years in the following: Design and implement of RESTful API with service oriented architectures using general purpose object oriented programming language such as Java; Relational and non-relational databases such as SQL, HDFS, HBase along with distributed big data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, MapReduce; Deliver high-quality multi-threaded application code and reviewing complex code bases in a fast paced, agile team environment; Understand design patterns, build systems, version control tool such as Git, data modeling techniques (e.g. JSON, XML), Pair programming and Test Driven Development approaches.
Experience must also include Develop scalable and production grade distributed systems using multi-tier system design approach; Develop Full-stack applications with modern frameworks such as AngularJS, React and latest web standards including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; and DevelopJ2EE application with Sprint Boot and Hibernate frameworks.
